【Abstract】 The Seminar is one of the series of seminars on human factor’s advances, and mainly focuses on discussions of the status quo and future of Intellectual Property Protection in user interface design. It will be divided into two sessions, namely keynote speech and interactive discussion. Contents of keynote speech are as follows: (1) The intellectual property rights for user interface in Europe, by the specialists from Grunecker Patent Attorneys and Attorneys at law, and (2) Intellectual Property Protection on Industrial Designs-Beginning with GUI, by Dr. Xiaowu Li from School of Law, Tsinghua University.

【Brief bio】Grunecker Patent Attorneys and Attorneys at law, was founded in 1924. Now it is a internationally-renowned firm of intellectual property. The areas of practice cover all IP-related matters, with an emphasis on: (1) filing and prosecution of German, European and foreign national patents, trademarks and designs as well as PCT applications, (2)oppositions and nullity actions against patents and trademarks, (3)patent, trademark and design litigation, (3) opinion work, due diligence and licensing.

Xiaowu Li is working in School of Law, Tsinghua University. He has got B.E. and LL.M at Tsinghua University, and PhD at Graduate School of the Chinese academy of Social Sciences. And his research areas contain Law of Intellectual Property, Law of Technology and so on.
