【Title】Critical Infrastructure Rebuild Prioritization Using Simulation Optimization

【Abstract】Preserving the nation’s critical infrastructure is the nation’s essential function. However, it is a very challenging task to preserve the complex and networked national critical infrastructure including water supply system, communication system, transportation systems, and energy system. The presentation talks about the challenges of nation’s essential function to preserve the nation’s critical infrastructure. Especially, a model is discussed on the recovery prioritization of the networked critical infrastructure during an intended attack related emergencies.

【Bio】Dr. Choonjoo Lee is a professor and Department Chair of the Department of Defense Science at Korea National Defense University. He is also Chair of Editorial Board in Journal of the Military Operations Research Society of Korea. Prof. Lee has also worked as Vice-Chair of “Research Information Center for Defense” of Korea National Research Foundation, from 2008 to 2013, committee member of “Defense R&D Performance Evaluation Committee” of Korea Defense Acquisition Program Administration from 2008 to 2014. He obtained his Ph.D. from  Seoul National University in 2003. He also holds a M.Sc. from University of California at Berkeley. Prof. Lee’s research interest is focused on Science & Technology for National Security, Defense Analytics, Defense Acquisition Policy, Productivity Analysis, Weaponeering, Critical Infrastructure Protection.
