On April 21, the Digital Capability Development Center jointly established by Tsinghua University and McKinsey Consulting was completed at Lee Shau Kee Science and Technology Building, Tsinghua University. The center is composed of the Digital Model Factory Laboratory of the Department of Industrial Engineering and the Digital Display Center Laboratory of the Basic Engineering Training Center of Tsinghua University. It aims to help Chinese companies to promote digital transformation under the China Manufacturing 2025 Development Strategy and successfully realize the manufacturing industry’s upgrade.

 
The Opening Ceremony

At the opening ceremony, Prof. Yang Bin, Vice President of Tsinghua University, pointed out that under the background of new technologies and new industries, enterprises must take the initiative to lay out and deepen reforms and explore new modes of training for engineering talents. Tsinghua University has always attached great importance to its close integration with the industry. Tsinghua and McKinsey have established the center based on the research and development of the Model Factory Laboratory in the Department of Industrial Engineering, which will become an example of Tsinghua University's deep integration of industry and research and students' real access to the industry, and will promote intelligent manufacturing in China for talent training."
